Welcome to 2026

Year of the Horse

A fresh year, a fresh start, and the same goal we all share: keeping horses comfortable, supported, and—ideally—sound today, tomorrow, and all year long (because we all know how quickly that can change).

We’re back in action after our holiday break, and wanted to extend a “thank you” for being such wonderful clients while we took time over the holidays to be with our families. As a family-owned company, that time together means a lot to us—and we’re grateful to be part of a community that understands the balance between hard work, horses, and home.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to share our 2026 conference schedule, with opportunities to connect in person, talk hoof care, and continue learning alongside veterinarians, farriers, and horse owners across the country. We can’t wait to see you out there this year.

Until then, stay warm, take care of yourselves, and if you’re out there chipping ice off water buckets, know we’re right there with you—thinking spring thoughts and sound-horse wishes.

Here’s to a strong, steady start to 2026.

The Soft Ride Team

Soft Ride on the Road - First Stop of 2026

We’re excited to share that Soft Ride will be attending the 2026 SCAAEP Job Fair and Wet Lab Event at Texas A&M on January 17, 2026! This dynamic day is hosted by the Texas A&M Student Chapter of the AAEP in partnership with the Texas Equine Veterinary Association and the Texas Equine Foundation.

This event brings together 200+ equine-focused vet students from over 22 schools, hands-on wet lab experiences with equine clinicians, and a vibrant Job Fair where students can network with more than 50 practices and organizations from across the country, explore externship and internship opportunities, and learn about careers in equine medicine.

Soft Ride will be there to connect with veterinary students and clinics, share insights about our therapeutic products, and support the next generation of equine professionals. We’re looking forward to meeting attendees, discussing real-world clinical needs, and strengthening relationships with future equine practitioners.

If you’re headed to the event too, be sure to stop by and say hello!

FAQ Corner

Question: My horse has low heels and the material is bunchy, how can I make the boots more snug?

Answer: Soft Ride Boots are designed so that the back panel of ballistic material can be folded to accommodate a high or low heel. If the material is wrinkled or folded under the horse’s hoof, you should try “cuffing” the boot. This can be done by folding the back of the material down to the outside 180 degrees so the velcro tab is inverted. Since the hook and loop is the same on both sides of the tab, this boot will close the same as normal, but with a minimized height.

A Quick Winter Reminder

Winter can be especially hard on horses’ feet. Frozen ground increases concussion, icy or uneven footing can challenge stability, and long hours standing in cold, wet conditions may contribute to soreness or stiffness. This is a time of year when comfort and support matter more than ever.

Soft Ride products can be especially helpful during the winter months, whether for short-term relief or ongoing support:

  • Use Soft Ride Boots for horses dealing with soreness from frozen or hard ground, thin soles, bruising, or post-trim sensitivity.

  • They can be worn during stall time, round pen or stall run turnout (conditions permitting), or recovery periods to help reduce concussion and provide consistent cushioning.

  • Soft Ride Boots are often used for rehabilitation cases, including horses with laminitis, abscesses, or other hoof-related discomfort, under the guidance of a veterinarian or farrier.

  • For horses on limited movement or stall rest, boots can help improve comfort and circulation during long periods of standing.
